Adderall Weight Loss

Adderall is a drug that is primarily used to treat the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Many patients find that their ADHD symptoms are kept under control by this medication, and it helps them to lead a more normal life. It has become a common practice, however, for some to try and acquire this medication for another purpose. Have you heard talk about Adderall and weight loss? Here are a few things you need to know if you were considering acquiring this medication in order to drop weight fast. Hopefully, this will help you to make a good decision for the sake of your health.

Here is the short version. Will it work? Probably. Should you do it? Absolutely not! There is a reason why doctors don't prescribe Adderall for weight loss. That wasn't what it was made for. Yes, it will absolutely curb your appetite while you are on it. Eating less food generally leads to weight loss. There are a number of problems with this solution though, and you need to consider these issues before making a decision.

First of all, your body will grow accustomed to the Adderall. Over time, you will need more and more of the drug to alter your metabolism. Another factor is acquiring the medication. You will either have to fool a health professional into giving it to you, or otherwise acquire it on the black market. This is an expensive medication. Also, if you don't get your drugs legally, you don't know for sure what you are getting. (And did we mention the legal part?) If that's not enough to scare you off, Adderall only will curb your appetite until you stop taking it. Come of the meds and the weight is right back. This is all besides the fact that rapid weight loss is unhealthy and that you really need to eat a sufficient amount each day in order to have energy.

So forget about using Adderall for weight loss. The best way to lose weight is to live a healthy lifestyle. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from fried foods and fast food restaurants. Exercise for 30 minutes per day. The weight will come off slower, but it will stay off and you will have more energy. You'll also avoid the side effects of a drug like Adderall which can have particularly adverse effects on a person who does not have ADHD but takes it anyway.
