Wellbutrin Side Effects (Bupropion)

When you are taking medications that affect your hormones and brain chemistry there are bound to be side effects. However, with proper discussion, trial, and adjustment you can minimize or eliminate the side effects of wellbutrin (bupropion). Make sure that you keep track of any and all of the Wellbutrin side effects that you experience and discuss them with your doctor to ensure that you are not putting yourself in harms way when something can be done to decrease the effect. One of the most common concerns with taking this antidepressant is the Wellbutrin sexual side effects. Depending on your body’s reaction to the medication these side effects can be quite unpleasant, but your doctor will work with you to find the best solution.

Side effects of Wellbutrin (bupropion)

The most dangerous and potentially fatal Wellbutrin side effects are seen as an allergic reaction to either the medication or something in the capsule. It is therefore, extremely important to seek emergency medical assistance if you have any of the typical allergic reactions to the medication: rash; difficulty breathing; and/or puffiness of your tongue or throat.

While the side effects of Wellbutrin (bupropion) range from mild to severe, the more common side effects include: mood swings, increased anxiety and/or panic attacks, insomnia, feeling restless or hyperactive (can be mentally or physically), increased feelings of depression, stomach pain, dizziness, lower libido, muscle pain, increased perspiration, frequent urination, changes in appetite, and/or unintended weight loss or gain. Most of these Wellbutrin side effects are mild and should be reported to your doctor as soon as possible. There are a number of side effects that should warrant immediate medical intervention, including: seizures, irregular heart rhythms, increased heart rate, flu-like symptoms, aching joint pain, hallucinations, and/or a severe rash. Make sure that you don’t waste any time if you see any of these side effects of Wellbutrin (bupropion). Wellbutrin abuse

While it is not common, Wellbutrin abuse, can cause severe complications and put people at risk of a number of additional side effects. Make sure that you seek, or encourage anyone that is engaged in Wellbutrin abuse, help to stop the behavior before it escalates.
